Frequently Asked Questions For Teen Camp
Click here for a complete list of helpful camp FAQs that are applicable to all summer camps.

When does Teen Camp start and end? [back to top]
Teen Camp starts at 1 PM on Sunday. Camp ends at 10 AM on Saturday. Please arrange to pick up your camper.

When should campers arrive at Teen Camp? [back to top]
Please plan to arrive between 11 AM and 3:30 PM for registration. Please arrive between these hours only. Arriving at times apart from these hours will disrupt camp and staff activities. If you are unable to come to camp and have registered, please contact us.

I'm on some additional medications. Will someone assist me with my medications at camp? [back to top]
ALL medications and herbal or vitamin supplements must come in their original and labeled containers in order to be administered at camp. Please DO NOT send medications in medisets or baggies. For questions, call Vicki Cutshall, Camp Nurse, at 867-3907.

What special activities are planned? [back to top]
We will be going to Sun Valley for swimming during camp. We will be going whitewater rafting near Stanley. Also, please bring jeans for horseback riding. Click here for a list of other camp activities.

Can I get a ride to camp? [back to top]
We can assist you in making arrangements for a ride to and from camp with other families or by a van from the Treasure Valley.  Email us at info@hodia.org if you need this service. Final arrangements will be set about a week before camp starts.

What should campers bring to Teen Camp? [back to top]
Rubbermaid tubs work really well instead of a suitcase for your clothes.  They fit under the bunks and keep everything clean and dry. THEY MUST BE NO DEEPER THAN 9” TO FIT UNDER THE BUNK. PLEASE DO NOT BRING LARGER TUBS. WE DO NOT HAVE ROOM TO STORE THEM IN THE CABINS.

Campers should bring the following items (click here for a printable list):

2 pairs STURDY shoes (tennis or walking—not flip flops or slippers) Sleeping bag & pillow
Brush/comb Coat
Long pants (at least two) Underwear
Pajamas Swimsuit
Short pants  Rain jacket
Dirty clothes bag 6 pair socks
Lip salve T-shirts
Flashlight/fresh batteries Soap & shampoo
Sun screen Towel & washcloth

Water shoes (Tevas, water booties, old tennis shoes) Daypack (lightweight backpack)
Bring a copy of your immunization records A copy of (or know your) last A1c
Optional:
Hat Camera
Talent show items Snowshoes (if you have any)

If you bring Game Boys, electronic toys, etc., label them carefully. These items are easily lost. (Camp Hodia is not responsible for lost items.) Please keep makeup to a minimum.

The following items are absolutely NOT allowed at camp by any camper or staff. Your participation at Camp Hodia means you agree to this:

weapon-like toys
pornographic material

Is a gluten free diet available if my child has Celiac Disease? [back to top]
Camp Hodia provides a gluten free diet at all of our programs for kids that have celiac disease. Food is purchased, prepared and stored in a manner that minimizes the risk of gluten cross contamination with other foods. In order to assist us with camp preparation, please mark that your child has celiac disease on the camp registration form (the question about other medical conditions). If you have any questions, please contact the camp director or email us at info@hodia.com.

How do I call camp in case of a family emergency? [back to top]
